The National flag of Canada is composed of a base red flag with a square of white at its centre, containing an 11 pointed maple leaf. Also known as the Maple Leaf Flag, or I'Unifolie (French for "the one-leafed"), it was designed by George F.G. Stanley. It was declared the official flag of Canada on February 15, 1965, which is annually celebrated as Flag Day.
